I read in Milet’s blog that she prefers calling the stage “Talented Two” for terrible just sounds wrong. I agree if we keep on calling our child terrible or bad he will grow up living up to THAT name. So let’s not start them off with the wrong notion.
When my 23 month old son acts up, I always reprimand him with a calm but firm voice. When this fails I resort to glaring and high-pitched shrills. When THIS fails, I let him be. He would lie on the floor crying his lungs out calling out my name. Then after he’d realize I won’t pick him up then he’d come crawling to me.
These things worries me though; can I still call him ‘talented’ when he’s being ‘terrible’?

If I had video footage for every little funny, witty, amazing, sweet thing my son Ozzy has done & said since then I’m sure it would make a full length movie by now.
It still amazes me that this sweet, innocent angel can say stuff like this & this.
A few updates on his ever expanding vocabulary:
- /ow-ter/ - Water.
- /ay-miss/ - Hi, Miss. {chickboy in the making. TskTsk}
- /ah-tee/ - Aunty Jennie {my sister who used bribery & food to teach the boy her name and that’s the best he can come up with}
- /gee-af/ - Giraffe
- /ari/ - Marie {next door yaya}
- /at/ - Cat {i just heard him say this ONCE. All the other time its “meow”}
- /Owa/ - Joshua {himself}
- Sometimes we catch him pointing with his mouth {gosh, so Pinoy!} I didn’t teach him that I think he got it from the help.
- When counting, Wa-too-tee-too-tee-too-tee-en! (1,2,3,2,3,2,3-10!)
A funny conversation that we had 3 nights ago.
Me: Baby, who do you love??
Ozzy: Mommy, Daddy.
Me: Who does Mommy love?
Ozzy: Daddy.
Me: Who does Daddy love?
Ozzy : YAYA!
BWAHAHAHAHAHA! His dad laughed so hard when he heard it.

Super cute.
I always tell my son “love you ” anytime of the day. I even whisper it to him when he’s fast asleep like an angel. Earlier, after our morning bath, while putting his shirt on I said, “Love you !” again. Lo & Behold he replied.
“ah-poo ”
I’m guessing he means love you too! I’d take that any day! Love you more baby.
I can’t quite believe it. I think I am going to be a single mom for a year.
If everything goes smoothly, he’ll leave 1st week of June! OMG. Can we do this? Actually, I can handle it, 1 year is not so bad. It’s the baby boy I’m worried about.
Also, hubby won’t be here for Ozzy’s 2nd birthday this July….
Will pray for this.

Mother’s day came and went by & I was pleasantly surprised on how many people even cared to greet me. (More greetings came than my birthday which was a few days ago!) Anywhoo.. That’s fine. Being a mother 2 years out of the 25 years that I am alive has been one great roller coaster ride.
How did mommyhood change me you ask?
- I am MORE conscious of time management.
- I have extended my patience (with kids & people in general) 100 fold. If you knew before you would know how I utterly impatient I am (especially with noisy kids)
- I am more aware. Aware of the environment & its safety, aware of the kind if diseases out there, aware of the hazards of not putting rubber mats on cr floors, and aware of restos to avoid because they don’t have proper high chairs.
- I have also been very keen on finance management. Before I used to buy little knick-knacks here & there but now, I stick to a budget & buy only what’s essential.
- I can now easily distinguish a real cry from the fake-mommy-i-need-your-attention cry.
Quick Updates on the little boy.
He can put 2 words together now, well sort of. Like two eyes (to ays), two ears (to ees), Mommy pees (please), Mommy baba (piggyback ride) and Mommy Bee! for Jollibee.
Ohhh remember I was saying before he never smiles for the camera? He does now. Yey.

Today, marks his 22nd month. 2 more months to go and he is officially terrible err two. Up until now we are still undecided of the venue. I think it would be at McDo or Jollibee. Jollibee has an edge because Ozzy loves that mascot. Anyway, were still really thinking about it though because
a.) Ozzy has a few friends & relatives to invite (I’m the only one in my close circle who has a kid and he is the only apo in the family)
b.) Would his ninongs&ninangs mind eating in Jollibee(most of whom don’t have kids & are single
c.) Would he be able to enjoy his own party or would it be better to wait a few more years until he really appreciates it?

Terrible terrible two’s. He’s exerting himself more now. He knows what he wants & he makes sure he gets his way. Sometimes the little monster even resorts to biting & slapping!
It’s exasperating to say the least & I end up scolding him more and more each day. He’s afraid of me and his dad and my dad. But that’s about it. He would easily dominate his new yaya and the other help.
On the brighter side his vocabulary is improving & his personality is shining through daily. We you talk to him you can see it in his eyes that he understands, he can also concentrate on a task for a long time. He mimics our actions and he loves to dance! Although most kids his age can already count and put two words together, I have decided to stop being so comparative and let Ozzy learn on his own time.
He loves to looks at other kids and if he can he will definitely try to make friends. Sometimes holding on to girls a bit more than what is proper! At one time I had to pry his little hands aways from the baby girls arms. Also, whenever he sees Anne Curtis on TV in a bikini promoting a movie, he would say woo-hoo.(his version of whit-weew)
He is still afraid of the pool or the beach! I don’t get it. He loves his daily bathes. He adores his inflatable pool. But he’s too afraid of the beach. Oh well. Better bring him to beaches more!

His fave video is on youtube, on motorcycle stunts! Pretty scary for a 2-year old. He would say vroom-vroom and attempt to do the rock and roll sign and he ends up giving us the #4 sign. ahaha.
Vocabulary Includes:
- Daddy Dosh - for daddy josh
- Mommy Gi - for me, he doesn’t call me mommy-yah anymore! yey.
- Pees - Please
- Pishy - Fishy
- Quack-Quack - he would mean the duck
- Joos - Juice
- Ays-tee - Iced Tea
Also, it is cute (because he redeems himself in the end) when he says, “Mommy hawa!” (in tagalog mommy alis djan!) then there’s a glimmer in his eyes, and say “pees” (please) ^_^
