This is the face of a boy who enjoyed his day in his class.

He even suggested to Teacher Farah they sing the song, Grandpa’s Farm (Barney). That’s his favorite as well as Raindrops/Snowflake & Airplane Song.
I had hurricane hair the whole time, Ozzy was pretty much everywhere all at the same time. He wanted to jump around, slide and as seen in the picture, crawl inside the makeshift tunnels. Are you still wondering why I almost never gain weight? Its ’cause a 2-year old boy is a handful. But if I ever do gain weight from eating all the Oishi Pillows, I’d gladly take weight loss pill for that.

This week’s question is :
What are the things you love the most about your kid(s)?
{END COPY}
I love …..
- How his face lights up when he sees me coming down from work.
- How he cries whenever I leave the room. (sometimes it gets to me and I feel irritated BUT I savor it because I know in a few years he would not even want to ‘hang out’ with boring mom anymore)
- How his hugs are tight and true and that he never tires of hugging me.
- How my son learns from me and from the people around him quickly.
- How he is a bit OC is an quirky way. He throws things in the trash and he cleans up after himself.
- How he quickly wants to change when told that his clothes are dirty.
- How my son is the most perfect being in my eyes.
- How he makes me smile everyday.
- ……..and i love that he dhows incredible skills!!! *So proud*
What do YOU love most about your kids?

Happy 2nd Birthday Ozzy!
Dear Joshua,
A year older, a year wiser huh, baby? Mommy & Daddy want you to know that we love you very much. You are the best gift we ever received and everyday you make us very proud. Be a good boy and remember to obey your parents because as hard as it may seem at times, we only want what’s best for you. That’s right, eat your veggies and sleep early.
We love you so so much.
Mom&Dad.

Jul
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted something about ‘lil Ozzy. He’s turning 2 in 4 days. Imagine that, my big bulging tummy is still fresh from my mind and I can’t imagine 2 years went by so fast. Well, it really did go by too fast. My baby is now officially a toddler.
A little monster who loves to climb, break, tear, spill, throw and yell. But I love my little monster. Even if he bites me sometimes when he’s nursing. Even though I never have time for myself anymore. Even though I am not allowed to be selfish anymore. Even though I’ll never have my body back. Even though our room will never be as tidy as before. All these things are nothing compared to the joy he brought us and to our family.
For his actual birthday that will fall on a Monday, 14th of July, we will have a little party here at home with close family & some friends if they can. The big dinner with all the ninong & ninangs will just have to wait. We have decided to combine Chi’s despidida dinner with Ozzy’s birthday dinner to save on the cost.
By the way, hubby’s 90% sure of leaving by July 30th….it still has not sunk in yet - the long distance part - I dunno, people keep asking me if its OK with me that’s he’s far & I feel guilty when I say Yes, it’s perfectly fine. Make me feel like a lousy wife, but truth is 9 months is not so bad considering the savings we’ll have. Besides, Ozzy is here. I’ll be fine. We’ll be fine. I hope I can say the same with Josh though.
Initially a Jollibee kiddie party was planned but he’s too young to enjoy that. So we’ll buy him a nice gift instead. We were thinking of giving him a nice new aquarium with colorful fishes & turtles.
His vocabulary is expanding everyday!
- he got counting to 10 perfectly now.
- he enjoys dancing with barney in “if you’re happy & know it” jungle.
- he can construct sentences like, “mommy gee, dede peez” or “ic-ac one peez” or “mommy, daddy, bah-bye”
- he still loves tic tacs. We use it to bribe him and it works like magic.
- he still likes wearing grown up shoes and refuses to wear his.
- he understands when were dressed up and going out and if he’s not going out with us he cries like crazy.
- he sleeps on his own at night but he still nurses (but I talked to the doctor and extended breastfeeding is perfectly A-ok!)
That’s it for now. Gotta go back to working. Later!
Last week started dreadful. Ozzy got sick, high fever + rashes. Fortunately for him it was not measles and now he’s perfectly fine. BUT those 3 days were so tiring for me. Little boy was extra clingy and would not eat. He lost 1.5kgs in 3 days.
The end of the week proved to be better for us. Josh finally got the documents he was waiting for from Norway to be submitted to the Consul for his VISA Application. Now, all we have to do is wait. Wait for his application to be approved..or (gasp!) denied.
*TODAY 6/20/2008* is officially his 1st day without work. So, we are +hoping+ his VISA will be approved. Please keep you fingers crossed people.
Updates on the little boy:
- He can now say his full first name “josh (pause) wah” (Joshua) & not just Ow-wah.
- Prefers ice cubes ti ice cream.
- He bites his nails. (ask!) I cut it short but he keeps on trying! I notice he bites it when he is bored.
- His bath time is crazy, sometimes he loves it sometimes I have difficulty in persuading him to take a bath!! Weird.
- He naps once a day instead of twice, sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon. (gotta establish a new schedule for this, I think it’s better he sleep in the afternoons, right?)
- Loves to imitate what we are saying. When we watch Wheel of Fortune he shouts the letters whenever contestants say them.
Generally, his vocabulary is fast expanding & getting better. We can easily understand what he wants & what he doesn’t want. At least with this we can lessen his tantrums because he is understood. Although…he is a bit stubborn and would insist on his way thus resulting to a few “crying” and a bit of shouting.
That’s it for last weeks highlights. I seem to have lost mojo in blogging..I think it’s because I don’t have tasks. Teehee. Hoping for more tasks next week.
I read in Milet’s blog that she prefers calling the stage “Talented Two” for terrible just sounds wrong. I agree if we keep on calling our child terrible or bad he will grow up living up to THAT name. So let’s not start them off with the wrong notion.
When my 23 month old son acts up, I always reprimand him with a calm but firm voice. When this fails I resort to glaring and high-pitched shrills. When THIS fails, I let him be. He would lie on the floor crying his lungs out calling out my name. Then after he’d realize I won’t pick him up then he’d come crawling to me.
These things worries me though; can I still call him ‘talented’ when he’s being ‘terrible’?
