Facing My Fear

Some weekend stories!

When I “passed” the driving lessons my super great instructor said, I already know how to drive and that there’s nothing more he could teach me. He gave me an advise though, he said I should drive constantly so that I won’t lose the adrenalin rush. If I wait around for a few more days, I’d lose my confidence and we’ll have to start all over again. This was last Friday.

So the next day I drove.

Initially I planned on having my hair done and maybe go by Ayala in the afternoon to meet with an online seller who I brought this wonderful brown dress. But mom wanted my sister and I to do the grocery shopping first so we did. I didn’t have problems going to the store and parking. After which, we went home and dropped the stuff and proceeded to the salon. Our street is a one way street and our house is the 2nd to the last house, the road is so small but I didn’t have any problems backing all the way to the corner. *So happy*

After my sister and I had our hair done. (pictures to follow) I have a “Suri Haircut” now, this you have to see! I know for a fact that I look kinda weird, almost alien like(!) but I love it. Kevs. Lolz

Today, Sunday, Ebbe invited me and the guys over for dinner ( I think he said fiesta ) so I went. For the first time, I was driving alone. This may be not a big deal to some but it is for me, I was really scared of sitting behind a wheel but all that’s slowly melting away now, I finally learned to face my fear and it feels liberating!

The best part is, I have no more problems with parking in our garage! You see, our 2-car garage is small and uphill and you have to park rear first. I’ve damaged cars by parking here before THUS adding to my less than stellar driving record in the past. I don’t know what changed, but I can safely say, I am a way better driver now.

Logging off in a while, been checking out these cheap unlocked cell phones and I’m tempted even though I have 2 phones already. They say 3rd one’s a charm! Anyway, going to Simala tomorrow and stopping for a quick dip in the beach.

Enjoy the long weekend guys! Xoxo

Friday Night

We had our annual barkada picture. The tradition started way back in college when everybody thought it was cool. Now in our mid-twenties we still do the darn picture taking thing and even take the effort to relive the poses each and every time! Bwahahaha. Talk about being weird. Love it. The result?

Older barkada pictures found HERE.

We had dinner at Rai Rai Ken and the food was lovely. We were stuffed and some of us had to go home (me mother duties, Gil due to colds and Yova had to work). The others supposedly wanted to watch a movie but was late so had coffee bonding instead.

Saturday Night

We had dinner at a quaint Mexican Resto in Guadalupe, Mooon Cafe. The food was better than their newly opened branch in The Walk located in Lahug. ^_^ Attention Mooon cafe owner.

Right now, Lao and Ken are back in Cavite. Back to our usual lives! Even though we were not able to spend one whole day together as planned because of this stupid bug we all caught (sorry for that I know I am the source) I’m still glad we made time for each other. Teehee ♥

Ohhh have you heard of the xbox 360 price drop? Better check it out.

So, did you also have a fab weekend?

Weekend Dates

Last Saturday, Daddy J and I had a proper date so to speak. We planned to have dinner at Krua Thai and after I’ll go off to my friends for coffee and he, to his friends for beer. That’s how sweet(?) we are. Anyway, I was really looking forward for this one because it will be our last date, and the next would be 9 months from now. Besides, Krua Thai’s Spicy Prawn soup is soooo yummy. Also, I’m excited meeting my friends because I’ve missed D and K so much and of course the rest of my college crazy friends.

I was busy mentally selecting through my outfits, I ironed my hair, groomed my eyebrows and even tried nose strips for getting rid of those pesky blackheads but sadly, it doesn’t work. I really have to have a nice facial or something to get them out.

I remember way back when I was still single, it would take me the whole afternoon just to get ready for a night our or a date. Now, it only takes me 1 hour max. Times have indeed, changed for me.

Sunday was spent at mostly at home. Exept for attending mass and a short trip to the mall, we stayed in because I caught a bug or something now I don’t feel well. I was supposed to do some online tasks yesterday but decided to let them all expire. I am too sick and lazy to even try.

Pictures to follow. I didn’t bring my cam and the one in charge has not uploaded them yet. hehehe.

How was your weekend?

Weekend Snappies

Pictures taken over the weekend. A photo post.

{Here’s a pic of Ozzy enjoying his bike, a gift from his paternal grandparents!}

He looks so happy noh? The night he got that bike, he refused to stop playing. We had to force him to sleep which involved kicking & crying. The next morning he quickly looked for his bike to make sure it was not a dream.

{Here’s a pic of Ozzy playing with his train, Thomas Percy (thanks Kel!). We were heading to lunch with my inlaws}

Notice my boy’s slight tilt in the head when posing? hahaha…

I am dead tired. I’ve been all around town the whole day. In the morning J and I had to buy tickets for his trip to Siquijor this Monday. We bought 9 months worth of medicines and supplies, a few clothes and some other essentials.

We also passed by the ukay-ukay and scoured the new arrival section for treasured finds. True enough I found and bought for myself a dress, a knitted deep purple blouse and a vest. All three were practically brand new and a steal - price wise. All it needs is a good wash and lots of fabric softener and its good to go.

In the afternoon my friends and I had our coffee meeting at Starbucks. We needed to discuss our itinerary for K and D’s homecoming. Even if we won’t have our overnight at Bantayan I think we’ve settled for a Spa Day or something else other than the beach. The weather’s not too nice anyway.

After I squeezed in a bit of shopping for the boy, I bought him a polo shirt, a baby bottle (with straw & not nipple), his favorite powder, some disposable diapers and cough syrup. Suffice to say when I got home around 6PM I was exhausted. Good thing, my boy was happily playing with his new gift, a bike from his Ama and Angkong.
