Joshua is nearing his 27th month this October 14th. For most, breasfeeding a child this old is a no-no. We always remember the milk advertisements saying, “Breastmilk is best for babies up to 2 years” but haven’t you noticed the line AFTER that!? It actually says, “Breastmilk is best for babies up to 2 years…..and beyond”. Makes it an entirely different sentence all together.
I am proud to have him nurse until now even with my friends disbelief and sheer displeasure. Lately though I see he is ready to self-wean as long as I too would be weaned. Yup, me. I may have prolonged nursing for selfish reasons. Can you blame a working mom like me who barely has enough time as it is?
I nurse him still 2x a day in the afternoon and nighttime because it is easier for me and faster for him to fall asleep. We can however do it the long way which involves singing, stories and lots of self-control.
I found a great informative site (www.babycenter.com) from moms who’ve been there and these are some of the highlights for weaning a child:
Highlights
Snack vs. breast
Let your child lead the way
Change bedtime routines
Introduce the cup
Avoid familiar nursing positions and places
Take it slow
Tricks for the family bed
A recipe for weaning
Pros and cons of going cold turkey
I have used this technique last night, with lights turned off and a full stomach, I sang and sang and talked about anything and everything - alas it worked! He was snoring in about 30 minutes.
Change bedtime routines
My then 26-month-old daughter Elise’s favorite time to nurse was at night, right before bed. Instead of nursing, I read to her from her favorite books. She would then drink her milk, and snuggle into the pillows ready for sleep. It took a few weeks to get her used to the routine — and some crying — but we learned to bond in a different way.

Hopefully, by December he can finally sleep soundly without me by his side all night. Now, who has tips for weaning mommy’s like me? lolz.
xoxo

My day started awfully bad because as early as 630 am I got an email from Paypal saying my funds withdrawn was denied. Of course I know why…and that’s okay but the crappy thing is I had deductions for the transaction. $52.00 to be exact.
It was nobody’s fault but mine. I should have checked my card. I should have at least known it expired. I mean it expired 3 months ago!!! I never use it as debit card that’s why I never knew it expired. But that’s water under the bridge now, off to better news.
I got my prize for one of the 1st 5 participants in SomethingPurple’s 4th Blogging Anniversary! yey. Thanks Em! Hehe Although, the DIY notepad sounded purpleicious money is always good too! bwahahaha lolz
Also, I thought I was going to have to pay Php150.00 for the renewal of my expired card, I did not. So at least… ^_^
Hubby has a working VISA now and not a TOURIST VISA anymore. Praise the Lord. His contract would expire May 31, 2009. I can’t wait to see him…
No overload of tasks for me this week, that may be a good thing since I cannot seem to find my blogging groove..(I know its not obvious) ahahaha I just really want to sleep, watch TV or watch videos in SurfTheChannel dot com. All episodes of Project Runway, Dexter, ANTM and a whole lot more are there!
It’s almost noon. Gotta WORK. My dad/boss is out of the country but I am not a brat - I will work unsupervised. Wehehehe
Lately, I’ve been having difficulty in finding my blogging groove. Maybe having 4 blogs is too much, I feel that I’ve been spreading myself too thin and 1 or 2 of my blogs have been neglected due to the other 2. Anyway..maybe I’m just feeling really down. The fact that Josh is away is getting to me. I really miss his hugs.
Enough of that because I really can’t do anything about that anymore.
To more fun things, I’ve decided to enroll Joshua to the Gymboree for a 4 week session. If he likes it then I’ll decide on what to do next. For now, I’ll settle for a 1 hour Play & Learn Class every Saturday @ 10am. If you want to read all about his Trial Class then it’s here.
Good thing we don’t have work today because I’ve been feeling really lazy! The rain is not helping at all! I was supposed to go to the mall to meet up with friends in the afternoon but I fell asleep and when I woke up the rain was pouring hard. Even though I could easily go and catch up with them I opted not to. Besides Ozzy woke up minutes after I did so surely he’d disapprove if I leave without him.
Hopefully by tomorrow, I’d be back in my blogging groove and be able to snatch some tasks! Its been days and I’ve not gotten a single opp. Boohoo for me. Also, its been a week and my paypal money has still not been credited to my account, does Unionbank take this long?

One of the least favorite things I do here in the office is approve a salary loan and in time make salary deductions monthly for at least 24 months. Most of the employees here have outstanding loans gotten mostly last June when school started. I always wonder ~ if regular employees need cash loans occasionally does this mean we are paying them less or the country’s state economy wise is spiraling downward fast?
I personally think its the latter. I don’t really want to go into details and rant on politics in the Philippines because it gives me a headache…But let’s talk more on Personal Short Term Loans and its benefits.
As far as I know, there’s no credit check and because of that your loan application can be approved in less than five minutes. Also, cash advance fees are usually less than any bank fees you might incur for non-sufficient funds. So, its a better option that acquiring a loan in banks. Since you apply online, you avoid the hassle of too much paperwork, and falling in lines.
Personal loans are beneficial to people and even help you to overcome any financial crisis. Anyone even the rich has loans you know! Some use it for emergency some for their business. Loans are granted very quickly provided you have all the supporting documents. These loans are available in smaller loans as well as in larger loans with reasonable interest rates.
Do you qualify for a loan? Yes! Nearly everyone qualifies. Because there’s no credit check its a lot easier to be approved, cash advance companies just need proof of a permanent residence, source of income, and that you are over 18. These kinds of installment loans are available online even in the wee hours of the morning, but of course some of those smaller lenders may offer lower rates so keep an eye for those!
Go for ThinkCash!
Why ThinkCash? Simple, unlike any other Payday Loan or Cash Advance Company ThinkCash offer 25 – 75% lower rates. As I’ve said earlier getting a loan can be beneficial for a small business like our own since we need money for our inventory. Some of our clients expect to have a credit line in our company and one way to keep the customers happy is to offer a 30-60 day credit. So, having fast cash readily available anytime, for anyone is beneficial to us who operate by having lots of inventory on stock.
