Its all over the news, 4 Chinese kids have allegedly died and more are suffering from poison due to melamine in milk products. The Chinese government was also enraged by what happened and they have released a list of products recalled due to melamine contamination:

Melamine is a metabolite of cyromazine, a pesticide. It is formed in the body of mammals who have ingested cyromazine.[2] It was also reported that cyromazine is converted to melamine in plants.

As a parent, we have to be very vigilant in what we feed our kids, what we use (the plastic bottles/utensils) and what they drink.

Last week was a pretty slow and boring week for me, most of the time I was feeling bad (red flag) or I was having a headache. I talked to my mom and dad about it and we ruled out sinusitis and/or high blood - the verdict? Migraine.

Migraine is a neurological syndrome characterized by altered bodily experiences, painful headaches, and nausea. It is a common condition which affects women more frequently than men.

The typical migraine headache is one-sided and pulsating, lasting 4 to 72 hours^[1]. Accompanying complaints are nausea and vomiting, and a heightened sensitivity to bright lights (photophobia) and noise (hyperacusis).^[2][3][4] Approximately one third of people who experience migraines get a preceding aura, in which a patient may sense a strange light or unpleasant smell.^[5]

Although the exact cause of migraine remains unknown, the most widespread theory is that it is a disorder of the serotonergic control system. - Wikipedia

My hubby suggested that it may be because I am in front of the PC for hours a day and that my eyes causes strain that triggers my headaches. Could be too! Ahai. Too bad because I can’t live without being online, so the migraine must go.

I have this one favorite picture of my mother. It was taken when she and my dad were still dating. I find that portrait simple, classy and my mom looked absolutely gorgeous even with glasses.

Right now, when I squint to watch TV or read a book my mom would always ask me if I need my eyes checked. She’s concerned that I would need one too as early as now. Thankfully, I still have 20-20 vision unlike her who had to wear glasses at an early age of 12.

…I hate it. I tried not eating rice last night and when I woke up at 7AM earlier, my first thought was food. I was hungry. So I had lots of rice for breakfast and lunch. I mentioned that I gained some weight a few days back as our cook shamelessly mentioned while everyone was around. So naturally, I just laughed but at the back of my mind I wanted to bitch slap her. (joke!)

So the other option to losing weight is through exercising.

Seriously, we have an exercise bike here at home but I never use it. Sure for the first few days it was here I used it 30 minutes a day, but after some time, I got bored and stopped. I want something that won’t bore me! Is there any? The reason I don’t do well with exercising is because continuous and repetitive activity for long periods of time bore me. So, I don’t enjoy it.

I was thinking of hip-hop abs perhaps? I don’t know, does it even work?

I weighed 97lbs 3 weeks ago, now I am down to 92. Five (5) lbs in 3 weeks? Not bad. My goal weight is 90lbs. Then I’ll stop dieting and focus on tightening my forever flabby tummy. It’s something we mom’s have difficulty in right? And the worse part is, its so hard to lose weight in that area. I’d lose weight but that problematic area stays the same. Maybe I should just check on new & improved exercise equipments. Any tips out there for tightening the tummy area?
