After attending the fashion show last Saturday, me and my friends had dinner in IT Parks’ Mooon Cafe. I ordered Grilled Chicken Salad and I was mortified by the size of the serving. It was too small. It would have been fine if it tasted good but nope; it tasted horrible.
I am sorry to say that the food in Mooon Cafe has gotten from Good To Bad. But that’s not the worse part, as soon as I got home, I was so nauseated that I had to go the bathroom to vomit.
Not once but twice. I am sure it was from what I ate in the restaurant because I didn’t have anything else before I felt sick.
This morning I felt a bit queezy still. Arrrg - many people have said bad reviews about the place now I am definitely a believer. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to that place again.
Attention Mooon Cafe Management.

A few months back I attended a Franchising Fair in SM Cebu. I was surprised to see almost 80% of the participants in the fair were in the food business. Naturally, food is a staple in our lives, we cannot NOT eat which explains food stalls installed everywhere in the streets of Cebu.
When I walk around the mall now, I always observe which food business are popular in the market. Shawarma and ice cream stalls are still popular, more so with fast food joints that offer burger, pizza and pasta. I can’t help but keep my options for business opportunities because I realized as much as I want adventure and new place - I was to stay in Cebu. So that means hubby must come home provided we can decide what business to pursue.
I have observed that many Filipinos enjoy a good burger - and what the #1 Global Franchising Opportunity?
Two words - Subway franchise. Its too expensive for us though. But to those who are interested in franchising opportunities, click here for more franchises.

Its all over the news, 4 Chinese kids have allegedly died and more are suffering from poison due to melamine in milk products. The Chinese government was also enraged by what happened and they have released a list of products recalled due to melamine contamination:
For your information:
Melamine is a metabolite of cyromazine, a pesticide. It is formed in the body of mammals who have ingested cyromazine.[2] It was also reported that cyromazine is converted to melamine in plants.

As a parent, we have to be very vigilant in what we feed our kids, what we use (the plastic bottles/utensils) and what they drink.

More like low-lights really because LAST week was so full of sickness! People here at home caught a bug and everyone was pretty much down with something. Colds, cough, flu - the works. Good thing I never caught the bug - but Ozzy and the Yaya did. Thank God Ozzy dutifully drank his meds {mixed w/ apple juice}.

That being said, Ozzy missed his Gymboree class for the 2nd week now. That’s why he has to take the makeup class on Thursday to catch up with his classmates and then the final class this Saturday.
Also, last week he got his left ring finger stuck in the door! Poor little boy bawled his eyes out. I thought naipit lang and everything will be okay, but I was wrong. By the 3rd day I knew his nail had gone to nail heaven. A family friend whose a doctor got to look at it and confirmed our fears. He will be okay though as long as we keep the finger clean.
Right now, day 6 his nail already fell out {eww} it looked like this yesterday before I left for his nap (2PM).

..and when I came down by 6PM it was all gone. I’d spare you all the very recent picture because it looks soooo painful. Even I cringe when I look at it. But good thing he does not complain when we clean and put teramycin.
Brave Boy making his momma proud, hee! Ow, and for all wine aficionados out there, there’s this wine of the month club join now, there are no wine club sign up fees, no monthly dues, no minimum obligation. You may cancel at any time for any reason.
Check it out. xoxo

All this talk about seafood by the mom’s who met last Sunday at Dampa sure got me hungry. It didn’t help that I saw wonderful pictures of their food.
See, I am not a cook - I don’t even know how to cook rice without using the rice cooker so I rely mostly on chefs and take outs! Good thing here in Cebu we have our very own Sutukil for delicious mouth watering seafood dishes!
I stumbled upon The Great American Seafood Cook-Off, presented by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board featured top chefs from around the nation cooking with domestic, sustainable seafood from their home state. cook off
Look at this masterpiece! *Drool* It’s called Texas Gulf Shrimp by Chef Mark Holley of Texas. The dish is over hominy cakes with heirloom tomato relish drizzled with prickly pear gastrique. I like this one because it has been deglazed with tequila for a bit of kick to it!
Of course you can opt not to put it into the dish if you don’t like. But that’s just me. I love the twist into the dish. I will surely try to make one in the future.
If you see me eat seafood dishes you’d wonder where I put all those food because I can surely eat like a guy! The great thing about using domestic seafood is that they are healthy, fresh and fairly inexpensive. Aside from the very great taste of course, seafood is good for our heart because it is not fatty and full of oil. But that also depends on the dish and the expertise of the chef preparing the dish.
For more healthy and yummy dishes like these, you can go to their website (www.greatamericanseafoodcookoff.com) and enter to vote and get a chance to win a trip to New Orleans as the prize package! Its easy as voting for your favorite dish and get a trip of your lifetime!
