The most popular illusionist and escapist of all time would be Harry Houdini because he was the very first to try acts which require him to free himself from jails, handcuffs, chains, ropes, and straitjackets, often while hanging from a rope in plain sight of street audiences.

Admittedly even though all kinds of magician’s secrets are revealed on television and print there will always be that mystery to them. Nicholas Sarantakos better known as Criss Angel best known for starring in his own television show, Criss Angel Mindfreak is on a league of his own and may as well be the next Harry Houdini or better.

Angel, an American illusionist, musician, escapologist, stunt performer, and actor is set to appear at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas to perform his most notable illusions which include walking on water, levitating, floating between two buildings, causing a Lamborghini to disappear, surviving in an exploding C4 Crate, cutting himself in half and getting run over by a steamroller while lying stomach down on a bed of glass.

I am such a non-believer of magic and such but watching performances of our modern illusionist like Criss Angel make me think otherwise. There is certainly fascination and awe on my part especially when objects or the people are lifted off the ground!

Ozzy was sick for 3 days and he refused to eat. He kept on crying or whimpering or just simply acting up just so I won’t leave his side. At one point I had to bring him to the CR with me when I peed because he won’t stop crying.

Thank God for television and videos. Our Sony Bravia HD TV saved the day. Good thing the HDMI switch made it easier for us to switch between cable and/or HD DVD. It’s amazing how technology are these days. Although I’ll just have to make sure to limit Ozzy’s TV time because too much is never a good thing.

Finally saw the movie Sex & The City yesterday! In attendance were JR my BFF who is likened to the wind, always there but seldom “seen or heard”, Yova the Diva in an orange dress & patent red Janylyn pumps, Gil the “I am always busy” guy, Ebbe the heartbroken & cheated-on-so-I’ll-pour a-whole-bottle-of-beer-on-my-body while-in-the-dance-floor fashionista, Panyang the pretty single girl who is bored with her life, Ronna with her pink Gucci bag, Fred formerly known as Freda and Dwight & Rene the hot couple.

If you don’t want to know how the movie went then don’t read the next 2 paragraphs.

Of course the movie was fabulous, great clothes, shoes & handbags. No surprise there. The story was pretty simple which revolved around the foursome’s lives. Carrie was getting married to Mr. Big after 10 years of dating, Miranda was battling infidelity in her relationship with Steve, Charlotte was finally pregnant and Sam was living in L.A. trying to please a man therefore forgetting herself in the process.

Anyway, the once simple wedding became “bigger than BIG” and freaked John James (Mr. Big’s real name, can you believe it, I never knew that) out! Carrie was jilted. My favorite scene was when they were in the street and Carrie was smashing her bouquet into Mr. Big’s face. Priceless. Anyway…fast-forward 6 months later, yaddi yadda yadda they eventually realized that “forgiveness is forgiveness” and they kissed and made-up. Carrie & Mr. Big got married in City Hall in her originally planned simple white vintage suit made my a ‘nobody’.

The movie did not exceed my expectation but I enjoyed it immensely especially because I was with my friends and it was really nice to spend some time with them once in a while. I enjoyed it so much I even forgot to ask Ronna where she had her acne treatment before because I may be having break-outs in my forehead.

How was your weekend?

It’s refreshing to hear that ANTM’s Cycle 10 winner, Whitney is plus sized and considered as a Supermodel. She is the first one out of the 10 cycles to emerge on top despite being on the full side. Realistically speaking she’s actually on the normal side. Her body is considered hot to many. Besides she has a gorgeous face. So she should be given equal opportunity to be a supermodel like any other skinny model out there.

I can’t wait to see her in the cover of Seventeen or any major publication wearing couture gowns, plus size lingerie , tops and various swim wear.

It’s good that models are no longer boxed into the Size 0 category because this creates a wrong perception especially to the young girls watching these ladies in the TV, print ads and magazine covers. There are too many horror stories we hear about young anorexic girls starving themselves to death just to look ‘perfect’.

It’s about time we start changing that perception before it’s too late.

I am currently watching the American Idol Finale, David A. (yeah, I don’t know how to spell his last name and yes, I am too lazy to look it up) vs. David Cook. Basing on their performance last night it looks like the younger David is going get the coveted title.

He may be young and quite naive but he has the charm that can win America over. Surely, my bet David Cook won’t go home a loser because he has already made a name for himself.

I just hope that David A. gets a good manager and his mom (and not his crazy dad) would continue to guide him because stardom at a young age can cause a lot of problems! Look at Britney Spears she’s been in and out of drug treatment center and there’s no sign of her getting better just yet.

I envy my sister; she’s single and earns a lot so she uses her money to travel. She recently went to Macau with her friend and boy did she have fun! They went to the Macau Tower with glass flooring, they went shopping, they rode on the cable car in Guia Hill and of course, they went to the famous casinos!

My sister and her friend tried their luck in the slots. They won a bit and moved on to the poker tables but sadly they were not able to play! All the tables were taken and the people playing looked like they really were having an exciting time. I mean, who wouldn’t right?

Lookie lookie, my 4 fave New Yorkers in London! Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis looks utterly fab & gorgeous.

I can’t wait for the movies to hit the big screen here in the Philippines!

They are in London for the premier of their hit HBO TV Series turned movie ~ Sex & the City. A was a SATC girl. I watched it wayyy back (in 1998?) when I was still in highschool. But it was not until college that I seriously followed the series.

I was doing my usual snooping in celebrity outfits when I stumbled upon red carpet event photos of MK and Ashley Olsen. Now, I grew up watching these twins & I loved ‘em. That was before all this.

Look at the picture at the right and tell me - honestly, can you tell if they are wearing designer outfits?

No. They look like they’ve got out of bed,put on what’s available & rushed off to the event.

Well, who am I anyway to judge right? I can’t even afford what they’re wearing still!!!! You’d think they’ll use all their money to look good & come out looking like this?

The dresses look fine, both by Diane von Furstenberg MK in the slinky gold number while Ashley in the black sexy dress. It’s their whole style that bugs me. Can’t they at least comb their hair?

Now, Victoria Beckham has always had good taste. Good but not really great. Sometimes she overdoes it. And many times she looks stiff.

I like her hair though..and her choice of shoes and her choice of husband? ehehehe

But on the average she’s fine with me, I even had copied her hair style, the Posh Bob at one point in my life.

For this red carpet event; Her white vintage Armani dress looks good on her. Its hard to pull off something with plunging neckline & slits! But her hair & makeup is all wrong! Good thing the perfectly handsome David is there by her side!

Now, look what we have here. The perfect couple themselves. Tom & Katie.

I like Katie, I like her style. She looks effortless & serene.

She’s almost always dressed in Armani & she looks perfect.

But not this time. I don’t like the color of her dress.

It does not match her skin color…but its a nice Armani dress. but not for her.

Also, I feel it’s a bit too short.

and the shoes….it’s so off! So wrong. Next.

Now, look at what Eva Longoria Parker’s wearing!? Isn’t it fab? Like a purple princess! I love the details of the Marchesa dress with the pleats and it’s color, Aubergine is perfect on her. She’s wearing the right amount of jewelry - not too much since her dress is accentuated enough. Her hair is perfect and she looks stunning.

I’d wear this dress anytime!

But! If I had Gisele Bundchen’s body & butt then I’d wear this Versace only-supermodels-can-fit-into-it dress in an instant!!!!

I am a Supermodel Wannabe, I admit it, I strike a pose whenever a camera is pointed at me or even remotely near me! If I had listened to mom’s nagging when I was young I would have at least grown a bit taller and would have a slim chance in becoming a supermodel (dreaming, I know) Sadly, that would always be a fantasy. My height could pass up for a kids height! So you can imagine how “petite” I am.
