For week November 24-30, 2008

^Highlights^

November ended last week - we spent the last weekend of November visiting my relatives in Leyte. On the first day there, Ozzy already felt comfortable. Running around the house and playing with his aunts and uncles. He even shared his cookies to his lola-lola (great grandma).

He even made friends with the backyard chicken - who I didn’t know at that time when this picture was taken she was going to be our lunch. (Ozzy calls it, TICKEN - so cute)

Anyway, on the 2nd day, it was Sunday - we went to Ormoc to buy some house stuff. Ormoc is such a small City and we only went inside one mall - Gaisano. It was a 2 hour drive and Ozzy got busy counting the carabao’s in the fields and looking at the beautiful clear sky; as a bonus we even saw a rainbow.

(I think it was even Ozzy’s first time to see one)

I am glad I captured this picture of the beautiful horizon (even when I was inside the car at 90mph!); too bad I can’t say the same for the beautiful rainbow. I wasn’t able to capture a good shot because dad was driving too fast.

Then by Monday - we went to Tacloban this time. It was only a 45 minute ride from Jaro. We met up with most of my cousins and ate lunch together in a small cafe named Kuchara. I loved their pansit and sugba-kinilaw. After lunch we passed by Red Beach (Leyte Landing) and visited McArtur and his men.

This is the only picture with me in it. (and its doesn’t even count bec its too small!). It was such a beautiful day that Ozzy even asked me to take off his clothes because he wanted to take a bath! (yah right; as if he’s not scared…)

That afternoon we did take a bath in the nearby pool. I even saw the smiling skies phenomenon. Too bad this time I was not able to take pictures!!! I really2x thought THAT was common. Silly me. When we went home the next day, we even saw dolphins swimming beside our ship. It was really fun. Ozzy had fun looking at the beautiful skies and sea.

Okay so the dolphins in the picture is not even that clear but in my defense, they were swimming up and down very fast and away from the boat so I only had a few seconds to shoot it. It was still amazing seeing them in the wild though.

More pics here.

The event was a brainchild of Inquirer of its Lifestyle Series, entitled Fitness.Fashion goes to Cebu. It featured fashion together with an active lifestyle. Who says sportswear can’t be trendy?

For me though and for my friends, it was a chance to dress up in our ‘chic’ wear and an excuse to go out and party (even if by ‘party’ that meant I’ll be out until 11PM).lol.

I was invited by a friend and a featured fashion designer Edwin Ao. Other featured designers included Lord Maturan (of Phil Project Runway), Philip Rodriguez, Arcy Gayatin, OJ Hofer, Cary Santiago, Jun Escario, Protacio, Louis Claparols, Rhett Eala, Lulu Tan Gan, Anthony Nocom, Randy Ortiz, James Reyes and Joy Samson.

The fashion show featured newest styles by the designers for Kipling, Folded and Hung, Speedo, Nike Golf, Havaianas and Technomarine.

Lastly, Lord Maturan, Cebu’s up and coming designer and a friend, for Penshoppe

Suffice to say, I was glad decided to go. For a minute there, I’ve become boring and and contemplated to just stay home.
