For this week, Aggie want to know, she asked,

Aggie Wants to Know

“How’d your first six months go? And what are you looking forward to the next six months?”

Compared to the others entries who are far more colorful and eventful than mine like having a baby, getting pregnant, moving and working in another country, my 1st half of the year is pretty much more laid back.

Let me first refresh everyone’s memory on my New Year’s Resolutions and if I’ve actually done them.

1. Always be on time for work! 8am means 8am and not 930! *hihihi* -YUP.

2. Be more organized this year. Write down important dates, meetings, things to do so that work will be more efficient! (also, my be Starbucks planner can help me! weeee) -YUP.

3. Crunch time ~ tummy crunches I mean. I will lose the tummy fat this year (because I failed last year boo!) - NO. I - on the other hand -gained weight!!!

4. Devote more time praying. I used to pray the rosary everyday. Now, it seems I can’t even squeeze little time for praying let alone pray the whole rosary. I should bring back that habit. - NO.

5. Encourage my son to speak fluent English because I, sad to say, don’t. I should read him books, sing him songs and talk to him more in English. -NO. Right now, he speaks Bisaya,English & Waray!

6. Frugal in spending our hard earned cash. We have to save up to be able to afford our own place. - NO but I have managed to earn more.

7. Get over my fear of driving! Yes…I think the last time I was behind the wheel I crashed it? Or was it the time I got held up with an ice-pick!! <scary~huhuhu> Anyway, It’s been 2 years. I think I need to drive again. - NO. I really don’t want to drive.

8. Have quality time with my husband. Go on dates with him more. Now that we have a baby..we rarely go out on dates. I think we should at least date once every month to keep the love alive. teehee - NO.

Shucks, only done 2 out of 8?!

++++++++++

I will not bore you guys with details of what happened in the last 6 months because NOTHING BIG happened except our decision for hubby to work ABROAD. THIS news came to shock even me because we were not really planning it. We thought about it (because hubby’s twin is already there) but we never really thought it would come this soon.

It happened so fast, a few days after submitting his resume online, he got a mail from the recruitment office saying he was qualified, a few days later, (around May 15) he was hired and given the start date of JUNE 5. Woah. Major information overload.

After submitting his 2 week notice, we applied for his VISA and hubby was officially out of work since June 19. His start date was moved to Aug 4 and we are savoring our moments here with him as of writing this. He will leave on July 30, noon.

So I guess the next half of this year I am ‘not looking forward’ to being a single mom. I know it will be hard for all 3 of us. But the decision was made because we want to save to have a better future for our family. Anyway, communication is the key. I am just glad there’s a lot of options for us nowadays.
