Archives for the day Saturday, July 19th, 2008

I am dead tired. I’ve been all around town the whole day. In the morning J and I had to buy tickets for his trip to Siquijor this Monday. We bought 9 months worth of medicines and supplies, a few clothes and some other essentials.

We also passed by the ukay-ukay and scoured the new arrival section for treasured finds. True enough I found and bought for myself a dress, a knitted deep purple blouse and a vest. All three were practically brand new and a steal - price wise. All it needs is a good wash and lots of fabric softener and its good to go.

In the afternoon my friends and I had our coffee meeting at Starbucks. We needed to discuss our itinerary for K and D’s homecoming. Even if we won’t have our overnight at Bantayan I think we’ve settled for a Spa Day or something else other than the beach. The weather’s not too nice anyway.

After I squeezed in a bit of shopping for the boy, I bought him a polo shirt, a baby bottle (with straw & not nipple), his favorite powder, some disposable diapers and cough syrup. Suffice to say when I got home around 6PM I was exhausted. Good thing, my boy was happily playing with his new gift, a bike from his Ama and Angkong.

Saturday Special

My first Saturday Special! It’s easy just fill in the blanks.

1. While on vacation the past two weeks, I took the time to visit an old amusement park that is now abandoned. Hearing what sounds like carousel music I decided to enter the park through the open gate and much to my surprise I see an old friend, the one I lost contact with all these years because of a petty argument. She was there reminiscing our countless carousel rides years back.

2. Waiting for the ride to stop I find myself getting up on one of the carriages, my personal favorite, makes me feel like Cinderella off to the ball, I asked my friend if she wanted to sit beside me.

3. Feeling like a young kid again I close my eyes, smile and hum along with the music until I realize it was all a dream, but a beautiful dream. One that made me see that I miss my friend. How is she now? What’s her life like?

4. Now a little sad I realize it was all in my imagination and leaving the park I think to myself “Why not call her and find out!”
