Budget Tips By: Vannie (bwahaha, I am so poor in saving but I try so don’t listen to me 100%)

It’s very easy to set a budget, it’s how you stick to the budget that matters.

  1. Don’t eat out as much. Cook your fave meals at home. You can save a lot. I mean paying Php45.00 for 1 glass of iced-tea? you can have I pitcher of iced-tea with that amount! I-Bottomless ‘nyooo!
  2. Try buying meat, poultry and fish in the market & not in the grocery store. You can save & get fresher meat. Just make sure its clean.
  3. Set the AC on a timer. Usually during dawn you don’t need to have it running because its cold enough.
  4. Unplug appliances that are not being used. Safer & you save as well.
  5. Buy only what you need. Right ladies? Seriously, we don’t need to have all those shoes, bags, handbags, sandals, flip-flops etc? Buy the basic and when there is extra moolah then splurge. (I am learning this tip pa, I still have a few minor slips but I’m fine. teehee)
  6. Regarding baby needs, I saved a lot because of ‘hand-me-downs’, like the crib we used and a few clothes. It’s OK to have hand-me-downs as long as their fine & working, why not?
  7. If you can handle it, try shopping in tiangge’s and ukay-ukay’s! I do! It’s super fun and you’ll be amazed at what you can dig up! A friend once bought an authentic LV bag for less than Php1,000.00 only. (as long as you are up for the challenge, why not!)
  8. Buy in BULK i.e. milk formula and diapers. You can save more & sometimes there are freebies like baby wash and powder thrown in there as well.
  9. Get items when they are not in season; for example I got my sexy swimsuit in December, when summer came I saw it was priced a bit more.
  10. Lastly, never live beyond your means. Set a budget & try to stick to it.

That’s it. I’ve learned from reading the book Confessions of a Shopaholic ~ that its either you Make More Money or Cut Back; SO….if cutting back and budgeting doesn’t work for you; you can always make more money.
