The nanny gave her 2 week notice already. Everyone in the house is glad she’s finally decided on her own that it’s best to leave.

She is not happy here anyway, and I believe its for the best. For my part, I am a bit panicky ~ she’s the only nanny Ozzy has had since birth. Finding a new one might prove to be more difficult than we thought. I have already asked around my friends and family, and no one has good news up to now.

I hope Ozzy doesn’t have separation anxiety. I know how much he loves his nanny. So, anyone there reading this who knows someone willing to work as a nanny to a 19 month old boy, please give me a buzz.

Some important points to ask in interviewing new help or nanny:

  1. Ask them about their family background.
  2. Ask for their home address.
  3. Inquire if they have relatives in the area. (this may be reason for them to keep on going out)
  4. Educational attainment, if they can read and write.
  5. Where she worked before and for how long?
  6. Ask for the name, address an telephone number of the previous employer to check.
  7. Reasons for leaving previous employer. (very important)
  8. If they stay only for a short time each employer, ask for the reasons. You’ll get to know the help/nanny this way (her dislikes & preferences etc.)
  9. Let them write down basic information about themselves in paper; if possible get pictures.
  10. Since the nanny is handling babies; let her have medical check-up.

That’s it for now. Mommies out there, if you have anything to add please do. I would appreciate it.
