Now at 19 months Ozzy’s 3rd pair of upper & lower teeth is slowly showing (the cuspid). His 1st pair of molars in the bottom is already out; and now his 1st pair of upper molars are erupting as well. I didn’t even notice they were coming out. Good this Ozzy’s not showing any discomfort unlike before he used to cry a lot due to the pain I guess.
His appetite is great and his general mood is a.ok as well. He only gets tantrums when we close all 3 doors in the ground floor because he would run out & go out the gate! Imagine? He knows how to open the gates you know. He would go and proceed to the neigbors house and yell, pup-peee (because they have puppy’s there).
Anyway, back to my point. Ozzy currently has 5 pairs of tooth out. As shown in my pathetic attempt to color below:

And I am very much concerned with his brushing habits. I don’t want him to have cavities because I had when I was young and it was really painful! I would cry myself to sleep & wake up in even more pain.
His toothpaste is Chicco, Banana Flavor. Yummy & smells nice. He is generally cooperative; but there are times when I have to make him laugh so that he would open his mouth and thus I can brush his teeth. The upper one’s are harder to brush though. He would bite down the brush, or take the brush from me. It’s not that he doesn’t want to brush his teeth he just wants to do it by himself.
He would spit out and at times swallow. Is that so bad? I am not sure. Of course I try teaching him to brush on his own, because its never too early to start right?
Ow, and he know how to say Wowowee now! sheesh.

Yep, yung mollar ang last. Parusa nung time na yan lumalabas, kasi napakacranky nya as in!
Deye was like Ozzy before, swallow nya lahat ewww! Pero ngayon marunong na. Basta pagayahin mo sya sayo lagi. Saka ang gawa ko dalawa brushes nya kasi, yung isa pahawak kko sa kanya, tas salitan kami, para gagayahin nya yung ginagawa ko sa kanya. Utuin mo lang hehe!

Recently, there was a dentist talking about kids oral hygiene on the Today show and the one thng that struck me was that cavities are caused by bacteria, kids are not born with this bacteria and it is usually passed on to them by adults. How? I have been guilty of sharing drinking glasses with Mary, or taking a lick of her ice cream to keep it from melting or me tasting her food with the same spoon that she is using or letting her eat off my plate. Since I saw that show, i have stopped all these bad habits and have also taken better care of my oral hygiene as well as Mary’s. Also, using toothpaste with xylitol, eating blueberries and cranberries, is supposed to kill these cavity-causing bacteria.
