Ozzy Update 1

Vocabulary Update 1

My little Ozzy, now at 16 months would say…

1. Up – When he sees stairs, elevators and anything he can climb.

2. Dadad – When he calls people out. He calls our househelp this & his daddy. So as of now, I don’t really know what he means.

3. Mamam – Nope, he doesn’t mean me, he means food.

4. Mama – Now, that’s what he calls me although I always tell him to call me mommy.(mama is easier)

5. Aw-aww – When referring to dogs sometimes even cats! Ahaha

7. dadada-whoo – Dunno what he means but he looks cute when he says this! Ahaha

8. Ssssss… - When asked what a snake sounds like.

Things he does that make us laugh:

  1. He imitates anyone who coughs! With matching pat-pat sa chest nya!
  2. He can also say, woo-hoo when asked how to call out the chix~ haha. (his version of whitwew!)
  3. He throws his arm up when we say game ka na ba? As if saying, abante ako! (forward).
  4. He can do the deal or no deal arm gesture J
  5. He is super fond of dancing! (bouncing up and down) - to the tune of papaya..hihihi
  6. He can do the “mano po”. <“Mano” meaning hand and “po or opo” a term of respect in the Philippines. A Filipino tradition where the younger ones take the hand of their elders and put it in their forehead as a sign of respect>

That’s it for now. More updates soon.

Jam-Packed Holiday!

This December, there are 3 major occasions that I am excited about. First, Josh and I are celebrating our 1st anniversary as husband and wife, second, of course there’s Christmas and lastly New Year.

hk disney

I am excited yet I am dreading the whole hoopla because in every occasion we have a corresponding trip planned! My family has planned a trip to HK the weekend after our anniversary. Then we would go and spend the Christmas with Josh’s parents in Siquijor and New Year with my dad’s family in Tacloban.

That’s all fun and easy when you only have yourself to take care of, but imagine bringing a 16-month old baby boy? Not so fun and easy now huh!?

I’ve traveled with Oz 2 times already but always by boat. He has never ridden a plane. I was wondering how much taking off and the landing would bother him. I was looking for tips online and I have learned a whole lot! Try reading some here and here.

I will definitely bring lots of new toys, markers, inexpensive things that will keep Ozzy occupied. Also, never forget extra clothes (in case of poop accidents and vomit) and a medicine kit. The good thing about this plane ride is it is at night therefore, Ozzy should be asleep and that it is only a 4 hour flight. Phew. Imagine if it’s an 18-hour flight with stop overs? Good Luck!

My latest obsession

Starbucks is giving away a free and fabulous 2008 Planner!!! I want it, I want it…NOW!

But of course, there’s a catch (there’s always a catch) you have to buy 24 Starbucks Beverages; 12 featured Christmas Beverages (you have a choice between praline mocha, peppermint mocha and my personal favorite toffee nut) and for the rest any Starbucks beverage of your choice (except bottled water, bottles beverages and fruit juices). I am *almost* halfway..!

See?

That’s why I was inviting the screwed crew for coffee bonding this weekend so I can get more stickers & hopefully get additional stickers for some of their drinks. I hope the plan pushes through. It’s been a while since I’ve spent time with them.

By the way, I was not paid/coerced by Starbucks to write about them! Hmmm..Maybe they should! Haha

Ozzy doesn’t want Mom to leave

It started a few days ago, I don’t really remember when or what had happened prior to it. My 16-month old boy would immediately cry loudly when he realizes I have to go up and work.

‘Up’ because I work at home, in the 3rd floor to be exact. My dad runs his own business and I work for him. Like a normal employee I go in at 8am 9 and go out by 5pm.

In the past, little Ozzy never complained or fussed about Mommy going up to work. He’s bigger now and even knows how to say ‘up’! I guess he understands Mommy is going ‘up’ without him and he’s bothered by the thought. He never complains when his Daddy has to go. He is too distracted by the car, waving bye-bye while saying “vroooom”.(pout2x pa!) But with Mommy? Nope, no amount of distraction is enough!

Now, every time I do go to work, I have to bear his painful cries calling out for his mama… I don’t want to leave but I have to, I have to work and he has to understand that. Before leaving I always make sure to kiss him in the forehead and explain to him where I am going and that I will come back very soon. I mean…how can you resist this face???

What kind of a Parent Am I?

I took this test here. And the result?

What Parent Am I

So there..I am too good to be true? What does that mean? I guess I am a good parent, right? This got me thinking, How do parents measure if their good, bad or mediocre parents?

Generally, if your kid has good grades, has social graces, is into sports and activities, can speak 2 or more languages, says po and opo etc then they are deemed by society’s standard as a good kid therefore you, as a parent is a good, or should I say, too good to be true parent.

I have a 1 year and 4 month old son who would do the “mano po” to show his respect to his elders. So, I guess I am on the right track noh?

We’ll see. I will keep you guys posted! haha

What’s worse?

I just wanna cry.

I had a completely different post earlier and as I was about to save & publish it, I don’t know what exactly happened, it was gone! Nothing. All 192 words..I can’t believe it.

The Gods must be telling me something because while writing this particular entry I have experienced power failure and a lot of distractions. I have decided that in all the bad-luck surrounding me today, i.e. files not saved, no electricity, low water supply, entry loss, intermittent Internet connection , having power shortage is worse!I cannot imagine life without electricity. I can’t even imagine life without Internet how much more, electricity? That is definitley worse.

Please Lord, Let there be light (and water and Internet access).
