Should I?

Yes, I admit I am a fashionista. I follow trends but not to the point of overdoing it. I always see to it if I buy something, I get to wear it for a few years and not just for a few months.

Aside from being in fashion I too am very frugal in anything I buy. I am like this because I have a family now. I always think of Ozzy’s needs first. So you see, it’s hard to balance my two passions. Family & Fashion. Read more… »

Yova our Diva

He was a shy, timid and bandana wearing boy who was a friend of a friend. We’d exchanged hi’s and hello’s during our first year in the university. He was an Industrial Engineering student as well. I mentally took notice of him because of his good looks.

Fast-forward 7 years later, he is still good looking, but now the right thing to say is he’s fabulous looking. Better than me I should say! He has killer legs and equally killer looks. To top it all off the Diva can sing.

Kenneth, a.k.a YOVA, Happy birthday my dear. We’ve grown closer through the years and I feel blessed to have known a kind-hearted person such as you. You have trusted to me some of your most valued secrets and aspirations. You were there the time I needed you most. You sang for me on my special day. You were with me when my little baby was born. You took time to visit me when I can no longer go out as much. You are someone I can easily have fun with. Hang out with and share secrets with.

You may not know it, but you & the guys (you know who you are) keep me sane in this crazy world. I may not say it often, I may not say it enough, I love you so much. Happy, happy 20++ birthday!

I look forward to much more craziness with you and the screwed crew.

In a few days we will be celebrating our 1st year anniversary. I just want to celebrate it with a simple dinner maybe. I dunno yet. I still don’t have a gift!!

You wanna know a secret? Marriage is a LOT of work, “I’m telling you gerrrlll”(ala jr!). One is constantly adjusting to each others behavior. Add to the chaos a baby and *poof* constant pressure. I must say I am handling everything well. I allow Josh to go out with friends as long as he goes home early (nope, not early morning!). Also, Josh is never strict with me regarding going out with friends..So we’re cool there.

Although we don’t go out anymore like we used to, we just watch video’s at home or order in. I think it’s time to spice things up, don’t you think?

Hah! We’ll see.

Apparently, Sky Cable is adding 3 more channels!!! Velvet targets women and would have shows like The View and America’s Next Top Model. Maxxx Channel is dedicated to men and is Balls which is the sports channel.

That’s good, I love watching America’s Next Top Model.

You’d think I’d be happy right? Wrong. While they are adding 3, they are in fact taking away 5! All owned by Solar Entertainment – ETC, Jack TV, Solar Sports, 2nd Avenue and Crime/Suspense.

ETC?? Seriously? Seriousssllly?! No. They have got to be kidding me. I love that channel. I watch Ambush Makeover, Beauty & the Geek, Blind Date, TYRA show, Will & Grace and a whole lot more!

Why?? Why!! Can someone please explain to me why Solar Entertainment pulled out of Sky and Home Cable?

I’ve always hated Mondays. This Monday is the worst. There are too many things to do. Emergency loan of an employee…lost documents…quotations to finish…payables…and more payables…A lot is in my mind and to top it off, it’s too darn hot.

Over the weekend I’ve finished watching Sex and the City Season 1-7! I’ve watched it way back in HBO but I’ve forgotten how nice the series really was, you know minus the sex and nude scenes…there’s sense to it, especially if you’re this girl looking for love.

Anyway, I love how sweet Samantha’s character has become when she finally gave in and fell in love with Smith’s character! Not to mention Smith is soooo hot! Ahaha. That’s why I am so excited to see the Sex and the City movie coming this May 2008.

I want to know how things will end for Carrie&Big…Sam&Smith..Charlotte&Harry and of course, Miranda, Steve and their little Brady. There are teasers here and there and it seems like Carrie is finally getting married? I don’t like the dress though. Spoilers here,here.&.here

We went to Starbucks, Saturday and Sunday! 7 more stickers to go…Planner here I come! Teehee. By the way..I really recommend you try their Christmas blends…Toffee Nut Frap is sooo heavenly.

A family member was in an accident earlier today. I was in shock. When I saw her lying there in the gurney waiting to be x-rayed I went up to her held her hand and froze. I could not say anything, I could not even move. All I saw was the bruises, bumps and a visibly broken shoulder bone.

I excused myself and stepped out of the room. I could not see straight, the room was getting smaller and I was ready to puke! This never happened to me before, I didn’t know this could happen to me.

The stupid driver just drove off…without even knowing if D would be ok. She’s young at 20 and has all her life ahead of her. I just hope she’ll be ok.

She would need surgery tomorrow at 7am…Let’s just pray for her full and fast recovery.

Ozzy Update 1

Vocabulary Update 1

My little Ozzy, now at 16 months would say…

1. Up – When he sees stairs, elevators and anything he can climb.

2. Dadad – When he calls people out. He calls our househelp this & his daddy. So as of now, I don’t really know what he means.

3. Mamam – Nope, he doesn’t mean me, he means food.

4. Mama – Now, that’s what he calls me although I always tell him to call me mommy.(mama is easier)

5. Aw-aww – When referring to dogs sometimes even cats! Ahaha

7. dadada-whoo – Dunno what he means but he looks cute when he says this! Ahaha

8. Ssssss… - When asked what a snake sounds like.

Things he does that make us laugh:

  1. He imitates anyone who coughs! With matching pat-pat sa chest nya!
  2. He can also say, woo-hoo when asked how to call out the chix~ haha. (his version of whitwew!)
  3. He throws his arm up when we say game ka na ba? As if saying, abante ako! (forward).
  4. He can do the deal or no deal arm gesture J
  5. He is super fond of dancing! (bouncing up and down) - to the tune of papaya..hihihi
  6. He can do the “mano po”. <“Mano” meaning hand and “po or opo” a term of respect in the Philippines. A Filipino tradition where the younger ones take the hand of their elders and put it in their forehead as a sign of respect>

That’s it for now. More updates soon.

Jam-Packed Holiday!

This December, there are 3 major occasions that I am excited about. First, Josh and I are celebrating our 1st anniversary as husband and wife, second, of course there’s Christmas and lastly New Year.

hk disney

I am excited yet I am dreading the whole hoopla because in every occasion we have a corresponding trip planned! My family has planned a trip to HK the weekend after our anniversary. Then we would go and spend the Christmas with Josh’s parents in Siquijor and New Year with my dad’s family in Tacloban.

That’s all fun and easy when you only have yourself to take care of, but imagine bringing a 16-month old baby boy? Not so fun and easy now huh!?

I’ve traveled with Oz 2 times already but always by boat. He has never ridden a plane. I was wondering how much taking off and the landing would bother him. I was looking for tips online and I have learned a whole lot! Try reading some here and here.

I will definitely bring lots of new toys, markers, inexpensive things that will keep Ozzy occupied. Also, never forget extra clothes (in case of poop accidents and vomit) and a medicine kit. The good thing about this plane ride is it is at night therefore, Ozzy should be asleep and that it is only a 4 hour flight. Phew. Imagine if it’s an 18-hour flight with stop overs? Good Luck!

My latest obsession

Starbucks is giving away a free and fabulous 2008 Planner!!! I want it, I want it…NOW!

But of course, there’s a catch (there’s always a catch) you have to buy 24 Starbucks Beverages; 12 featured Christmas Beverages (you have a choice between praline mocha, peppermint mocha and my personal favorite toffee nut) and for the rest any Starbucks beverage of your choice (except bottled water, bottles beverages and fruit juices). I am *almost* halfway..!

See?

Starbucks

That’s why I was inviting the screwed crew for coffee bonding this weekend so I can get more stickers & hopefully get additional stickers for some of their drinks. I hope the plan pushes through. It’s been a while since I’ve spent time with them.

By the way, I was not paid/coerced by Starbucks to write about them! Hmmm..Maybe they should! Haha

Ozzy doesn’t want Mom to leave

It started a few days ago, I don’t really remember when or what had happened prior to it. My 16-month old boy would immediately cry loudly when he realizes I have to go up and work.

‘Up’ because I work at home, in the 3rd floor to be exact. My dad runs his own business and I work for him. Like a normal employee I go in at 8am 9 and go out by 5pm.

In the past, little Ozzy never complained or fussed about Mommy going up to work. He’s bigger now and even knows how to say ‘up’! I guess he understands Mommy is going ‘up’ without him and he’s bothered by the thought. He never complains when his Daddy has to go. He is too distracted by the car, waving bye-bye while saying “vroooom”.(pout2x pa!) But with Mommy? Nope, no amount of distraction is enough!

Now, every time I do go to work, I have to bear his painful cries calling out for his mama… I don’t want to leave but I have to, I have to work and he has to understand that. Before leaving I always make sure to kiss him in the forehead and explain to him where I am going and that I will come back very soon. I mean…how can you resist this face???
